Zenvo: The Danish Super Car

Super cars have been the zeal and zest of all car enthusiasts. For a long time, Denmark had no great deal to offer on that arena.? It changed with the entry of Zenvo. Zenvo ST1 is a super car packed with high performance that fulfills everyone’s dreams of a good car.

All of this power is channelized to the wheels through a Ricardo six-speed manual gearbox, analogous to the one used in the Ford GT. The whole drivetrain is bolted into a steel sub-frame that also supports a double-wishbone suspension at rear. The front suspension is also the same and is mounted on a dedicated sub-frame. Hydraulic dampers fitted all around lifts the car up to about 150 mm to navigate over speed bumps.

It is entirely built by the Danish sports car company Zenvo Automotive. The conceptbegan way back in 2004 and the design of the prototype was completed in February 2008, and was tested in December. The Zenvo ST1 was nominated ¡°the super car of the year¡± at Le mans 2009. The incredible performance comes from its General Motors sourced V8 engine. Zenvo’s engineers have equipped it with a rear-mounted, turbo-charged and super-charged 7.0 liter V8 engine. The ST1 name signifies “Supercharger, Turbo series 1″. The setup literally boosts its power to a staggering 1104 hp and an impressive 1430 Nm of torque at around 4500 rpm. In just three seconds, the car races from a standstill to 60 mph making it one of the present-day fastest accelerating cars. It can reach 120 mph in less than nine seconds and achieves a top speed of 233 mph.

The core of the Zenvo is fashioned by a monocoque, that contains the passenger compartment and connects the front & rear sub-frames. The chassis is made of lightweight-steel racing-frame that constitutes carbon fibre body panels along with hydraulic ride height control- equally beneficial for the city and highway ride. There are well incorporated cooling ducts and vents to support the power that lurks underneath. Together they form an aggressive and angular design that works remarkably well.

On the inside, the interior is not the Spartan species associated with hardcore sports cars but is something that is stupendous and comfortable. It possesses a G-force meter for starters and heads-up display. There is also an electronic analog instrumentation display with a Driver Information Center, the dual zone automatic climate control and key-less access.

Both racing seats are electrically adjustable, telescoping racing steering-wheel for easy access with identical settings every time. An auto-dimming rear-view mirror is another notable feature of this super-car.? Only, 15 models of Zenvo ST1 are scheduled to go into production which cost not less than $2,000,000. This brainchild of designers Troells Vollertsen and Jesper Jenson will aid in adding Denmark to the list of super car manufacturers.
