The BMW M5 2009

The 2009 BMW M5 is a continuation of the 2008 model and is available in a single trim. It is a true Sedan and is very much similar to its predecessor. It has a different front face, which distinguishes it from the other sedans.

The 2009 M5 has a 5.0 L, V10, Double-Vanos engine mounted at the front. The power generation capacity of the engine is 500 hp at 7750 rpm. The torque output is 383 hp at 6100 rpm. The car has a manual, 7-speed electronic transmission system. The gearbox is sequential and has Drivelogic. The slightly tilted, telescopic steering is a memory steering column and has 2 positions. The rack and pinion type steering wheel is of the automatic tilt away type.

It has several modifications compared to the previous model. The new headlights, a more fierce front air dam, modified taillights, and the all new rear bumper are some of them. The tail pipes are of larger diameter. The cabin has an aluminum trim with distinctive texture. The center console is fully covered in exquisite leather. With a simple, yet modern dashboard, the interior of this car is almost unchanged. The M5 sports a new design of door handle. The switches of the power windows are repositioned in the new model, now located in the armrests.

The vehicle has a stability control system and brake force distribution which is electronically controlled. The rear has 370 mm ventilated disc brakes and the front has 374 mm disc brakes, which are also ventilated. The braking system permits traction control at all speeds, and corner braking. The car consists of 4-wheel anti-lock brakes.

The safety features include Radio anti-theft system, vehicle anti-theft accomplished by double locking, alarm, engine immobilizer and Vehicle anti-lockout. Tire pressure monitor and cruise control facilities are part of the instrumentation. Remote unlocking is selective.

The Xenon Discharge headlights have headlight washers. The brake lights vary according to the degree of braking. The vehicle has the drive-by-wire control system. The interior is fully furnished with floor mats at the front and rear, merino leather on center floor console and brushed alloy on the instrument panel and doors. The steering is fully wrapped in leather. The car has storage areas behind the seat and also attached to the front door and the armrest at the back.

With all these attractive facilities, the M5 costs a healthy $85,500.
